2024 BRITS INFO

This page will be updated with South Region Brits info as we head towards this year’s championships in Derby. Address for the event is: Derby BMX Club, Alvaston Park, Meadow Lane, Derby DE24 8QQ.

Jerseys - new shirt year, the new design will be used for 2024 and 2025. Pre-orders have now closed. Everyone should now have received their orders or otherwise instructed by NXT regarding collection.

It is mandatory to wear a South Region jersey to race at the Brits if you qualify through the South Region. NXT will be at the Brits to deal with any issues that arise and will have general merchandise on sale.

Plates - use the MOTO 1 plate you already have or buy one from NX Teamwear when you order your jersey.

Numbers - number plate stickers and side-plate stickers will be supplied by South Region, distributed via your club rep at the Brits from Friday afternoon. These will not be supplied by NX Teamwear and cannot be pre-ordered.

Practice - for official practice, South Shirts must be worn and the bike must have correct plates and transponder fitted. South Region riders practice is from 1050-1145 on Saturday for ALL riders, combined with our friends from Scotland. The practice session will be organised and run by South and Scotland volunteers, and we will make sure everyone gets as many laps as possible.

As always, no parents in the pens. There will always be a South Region Volunteer available for riders.

There is also practice on Friday from 2pm, run by Derby BMX Club - details here.

Those racing on Sunday will have a short warm-up session before racing commences.

National series presentation - this will take place on Saturday after racing and following the British Championships presentation for Saturday’s categories.

Sqorz - entries have now been loaded on to Sqorz and race numbers assigned from rankings gained through qualification. Please check your entry, don’t worry about numbers etc but if you have any questions, check with your club rep. Check-in/sign-on is by riding round a lap during practice with the transponder fitted, or manually at admin. It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure they have signed on.

Link to Sqorz Brits 2024 here.

Race day - any rider with a mechanical whilst in the pens must stay with their moto. A South volunteer will take the bike to DC Cycles for repair and return it to the rider. The cost of this will be the rider/parents responsibility. If you do not wish for this to happen, please let your club rep know and it will be your responsibility to get the repair made. There is limited time for mechanical issues to be sorted and races will only be held for a strict, limited amount of time.

Any issues with kit will be referred to club reps.

Parade - this year the parade will take place after racing on the Sunday and go to the presentation arena.

The theme is movies and wear as much blue as possible. Bring whistles, bells etc to make noise.

Volunteers - please respect all volunteers involved in delivering the event, especially our hosts Derby BMX Club. The club’s volunteers have worked tirelessly to put on what we are sure will be an awesome event.

Here’s the British Champs tech guide from British Cycling which includes a detailed event schedule - it should answer all your remaining questions and if you’ve read it and still have a question, contact your wonderful club rep!

Any updates will appear here… so check back before you depart for Derby!
